Hello, BeautyBeasts!
It's been a while since my last post, and life's pop quizzes have kept me on my toes. Today feels like the right time to share a recent experience and catch up with you all.
Life has a way of pushing us to grow through challenges, even when it seems tough. The past few weeks have been a testament to that for me.
At my last speaking event, a question from the audience lingered in my mind: "How do you know when you've completely healed from a situation? How can you tell the difference between blocking it out and being healed?" Take a moment to ponder that.
So often, we're told to "get over it" or "move on," but emotional healing isn't as straightforward as healing a paper cut. I believe healing means the wound no longer controls us or causes constant pain.
Life's journey may trigger reminders of past wounds, but healing is about not letting them consume us. It's our body's alert system, warning us of potential harm.
Emotional healing doesn't mean suppressing emotions. It's about being mindful, balancing the nature of the beast. Embrace, grieve, and overcome the emotions—don't deny them.
We always have a choice and can control only so much. Life's uncertainties don't require us to have everything figured out, but we can choose how we respond in every moment.
For healing, take time for yourself. "Clean out your attic"—sort your thoughts and feelings. Weather the storms, and remember, sunshine follows rain. Healing happens on your terms, one moment at a time.
Feeling lost, sad, or defeated is okay. Control your emotions, avoid lashing out, and remember right from wrong. Communicate your feelings to others, asking for patience as you grow.
You're not required to have it all figured out. Trust that everything will work out, and stay positive. Be grateful for what you have, even during dark moments.
Each person's healing journey is unique. Keep this in mind when supporting others facing their storms. And always remember, storms do not last forever. Stay ready and hopeful for the rainbow after the storm.
With love and gratitude,
Coach Jayme
